Amelia’s Garden is seasonal dining at its best. With many ingredients supplied by local food producers, Amelia’s Garden is a taste of the best Prince Edward County has to offer. The focus on local ingredients doesn’t mean that the menu is ordinary, as our team adds international flair, fusing different cuisines from around the world. Sourcing locally-produced food is a priority which means The Waring House relies on many local food producers and suppliers. The Waring House is proud to have its own kitchen garden, lovingly designed and tended by Syrian émigré Abdel-Malek and landscape design artist Kim Katanik-Kuris. Our garden, and the surrounding family farms, help ensure that during the growing season, the produce on your plate was grown, not kilometres, but mere metres away, and harvested that morning for your dining enjoyment. Amelia’s Garden offers many different menus throughout the year, so our online menu is only a sample. Most of our accommodation packages feature dinner in Amelia’s Garden. Although we try to accommodate walk-ins, dinner reservations are recommended.

PEC Accommodation Categories
The following definitions have been developed as a guide to the terminology used by the Prince-Edward-County.com tourism website to distinguish the various kinds of properties that are prevalent today. These definitions were developed with assistance from a local ad-hoc accommodation group.
Bed and Breakfast (B&B)
A lodging establishment that also functions as a residence for the owner-hosts. Breakfast is served to overnight guests. Bathrooms can be private or shared (with other guests or with the family in smaller establishments) or en-suite (where the ablutions are directly accessed from the guest bedroom).
This kind of lodging property has all the characteristics of a B&B Inn, but serves an evening meal in addition to breakfast. Some country inns serve dinner to overnight guests only, and the cost of dinner and breakfast is generally included in the room rate (called the Modified American Plan). A country inn with a “full-service restaurant” serves meals to the general public.
A private home available for rentals. Many operate for a limited season. Some vacation homes may be represented by a reservation service organization (RSO).
A Suite is a lodging unit that is part of a larger residence, in which the bedroom and bathroom are separate from the living area and a kitchenette is often included. Often a suite has a private entrance.
A privately-owned recreation property, often operating for a limited season. Some private cottages may be represented by a reservation service organization (RSO).
A commercial recreation property that contains several lodging properties, and is represented by a reservation service organization (RSO). Cottage Resorts are inspected and must comply with local and provincial licensing requirements.
A commercial establishment that provides lodging for motorists in rooms usually having direct access to an open parking area. Also called motor court, motor lodge.
A commercial establishment providing lodging, meals, and other guest services. In general, to be called a hotel, an establishment must have a minimum of six letting bedrooms, at least three of which must have attached (ensuite) private bathroom facilities.
