Our love of sculpture found a new expression when we opened Oeno Gallery’s Sculpture Garden at Huff Estates in 2011. The paths that meander through the 4 acre garden extend to the edge of the vineyard. Designed as a place of discovery and contemplation, it is a celebration of the interplay of dynamic art installations, colour, material, and the plants our gardeners coax out of the limestone terroir. Prince Edward County is proud to be the newest community to establish Barn Quilt Trails as part of a North American network of rural art. Come for a drive and explore our beautiful island community! Barn Quilts draw attention to disappearing rural landscapes, timber frame barns and the family farm. Barn Quilts tell a story, draw attention to unmarked historical places and create a year-round themed route for residents and visitors alike that celebrates rural culture and the traditional arts. Here in PEC, the initial trail starts from the Picton roundabout heading west and turns left onto County Road 32 (Mallory Road). Upon the end of County Road 32, the trail turns right onto County Road 12 (Stanley Street) and rejoins Highway 33 via Mill Street in Bloomfield. Other locations are popping up all over the County as well! If you are a visitor … Welcome! Enjoy driving or cycling our newest trail … the Barn Quilts Trail!

The Arts Trail is a great way to indulge your love of things hand-crafted and real. It’s an opportunity to explore your own inner artist spirit, to collect art, or just to go wild buying unique gifts. There is something satisfying about buying a creation from the artist who made it – the object and the pleasure of purchase stays with you like a good friend, and provides a life long connection to a special County story. Naturally the galleries and studios you visit will be as diverse as the artists themselves. Multiple-artist galleries are a great way of seeing a range of work, and part of the fun of the Arts Trail is that it takes you around our beautiful countryside to discover workshops, studios and galleries in a range of settings. Expect everything from cozy country to cutting edge – all good for your imagination, your experience of the County and our creative community. Visit artstrail.ca

On Art in the County’s opening night, the jury’s selections—more than 100 pieces—are unveiled and the winners announced.
