Consecon Community Day

Annually the long provincial holiday weekend which falls in either July/August. This year Consecon Community Day is August 05, 2017
The public is invited to join us and take part in the day long festivities. There is something for everyone including including:
– Village wide yard sale
– Children’s activities
– Art on the Lawn
– Church bake sale
– Library Activities
– Craft sales
– Bay of Quinte Aeromodeller’s Open House
– Soap Box Derby
– Legion’s Big BBQ
– Street dance with a live band
and much, much more…
On Saturday August 5th. from 8:00 am until the awesome event closing Street Dance featuring the Classic Rock’n Roll sounds of “The Bonnie Roxx Band” the public is invited to join us and take part in “Consecon Community Day 2017.”
Come out and be part of a daylong, festivities filled, family occasion with something for everyone. Kicking off at 8:00 am is the “Car Boot Sale” in the Emm’s Restaurant parking lot on Loyalist Parkway or do your bargain hunting at the area-wide Garage and Yard Sales happening at the same time. Emm’s Restaurant will host an “All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast,” with half of the proceeds donated to the Consecon Masonic Lodge, after breakfast check out The Storehouse Food Bank Kid’s Zone, Len’s RV Show, and the Fire Truck and OPP car which will also on the Emm’s Restaurant property throughout the day.
Walk about or enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides around the village to take in all the events and locations. Before hopping onboard, visit the Tanglewood Farms Equestrian Centre table for information on Trail Rides & Lessons.the Consecon Legion is hosting a licensed Waterfront Patio throughout the day. The “Bay of Quinte Aeromodellers” will hold their Open House at their Bob Corner Airfield on Stinson Block Rd, don’t miss “FunFly” featuring many different types of model aircraft. In the morning, the Consecon United Church Women hold their Craft/Bake Sale in the Church Hall, and don’t miss the exotic animals at The Wild Zoo Parties display on the Church lawn, next to PEC Fire Truck. Be sure to be on hand at 10:00 am at the United Church for a Canada 150 photo opportunity. The Merchant’s Mill will have Art on the Lawn with artists giving free workshops and demonstrations, visit Janet B Gallery & Studio, for art demonstrations and have a hand in designing a Community Art Piece to be auctioned off at the Street Dance. The Consecon Library will hold their annual the used book sale, play Giant Dominos, paint with potatoes, and help finish the Canada 150 Puzzle. Stop by the D-Works Upcycle Art Gallery, then slip over to the Goddess Fab Jewelery Design Studio on your way to The Mill the newly opened restaurant in renovated Consecon Mill fro a Meet & Greet & Taste. Then make your way to the afternoon feature event. “The 7th Annual Consecon Soap Box Derby” which rolls out on the Mill Street hill at Noon. After the Derby, if you haven’t already done so, stop by Fronterra Farm Camp & Brewery and witness a demonstration of Heritage Beer Making Techniques. Don’t miss out on The Consecon Day Special at Strato’s Pizzeria and Consecon’s own Loonie Bin Too.
Now it’s time to head down to the Consecon Legion, chill a little and take your time and enjoy the Pig Roast Dinner starting at 5:00 pm, which leads into the Street Dance on Mill Street in front of the Legion and Masonic Hall. If you’re planning to attend remember to bring along your lawn chairs. As always, this celebration is brought to you by the Ameliasburgh Recreation Committee.
