Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory (PEPtBO)
Join experts and special guests for a series of guided walks, talks and special crafts and games during fall bird migration at the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory. This is one of the province’s best places to see the colourful and unusual birds that stop along the shores of Lake Ontario on their migratory routes.
Aug 19 – Oct 31: Bird banding – daily 8 am – 12 pm (free) Banding does not take place if it is raining or too windy.
Sat Sept 21: 8:30-10:30 am at the Observatory – Fall Warbler Identification Workshop. Learn tips to identify warblers in their fall plumage, see birds up close at the banding lab, and practise skills on a walk to the lighthouse.
Sat Oct 5: Guided Bird Walk – 9 am at the Observatory
Sat Oct 12: Guided Bird Walk – 9 am at the Observatory
Saw-whet Owl Banding: (Free -must Register in advance – numbers limited: peptbo.ca)

Note: Owl banding does not take place if it is raining or too windy – check the website before coming. Wear warm clothes and bring a flashlight.
