This two-part seminar series on Introductory Beekeeping is designed for those with little to no prior beekeeping experience. Come learn from a local instructor: the owner and lead beekeeper of Emily Rose Apiaries. Emily has over 6 years of commercial beekeeping experience, and is currently serving on the board of directors for the Ontario Beekeepers’ Association (OBA).
Topics discussed in Part I (April 24th, 6:00pm-8:30pm) will include how to get started with keeping bees, the laws related to keeping bees in Ontario, an introduction to hive management, honey collection, and more. Included in the ticket price is a take-home booklet with information from the class.
Part II (May 1st, 6:00pm-8:30pm) will delve into intermediate beekeeping topics, including pest and disease management, how to solve common queen issues, and how to make splits. Another take-home booklet will be provided with the information from the second class.
Both classes will take place at the gorgeous Huff Estates Winery. Wine will be available for purchase, if desired. Tickets are required for this event.
