Saturday February 9
Drake Devonshire, Wellington
Winter may have a solid grip on us now, but that won’t stop a group of internationally acclaimed artists, literally from all corners of the globe, from coming here for a cool pop-up jam session at The Drake Hotel Devonshire in Wellington Saturday, February 9th!!
Artists include cellist Blair Lofgren, principal cellist of the Quebec Symphony; Cellist Trey Lee from Hong Kong whose concerto debut at Carnegie Hall earned him a standing ovation; Berliner Philharminker’s Sebastian Krunnies on the viola; Violinist Jessie Ramsay, a recent graduate from Ottawa and who plays with the Kingston Symphony on occasion; London, Ontario- based Joe Phillips on the double bass who performed here last summer with Payadora Ensemble Studio (as part of Wellington Water Week); Hungarian Jozsef Botos on the guitar and Toronto/Berlin-based violinist Elissa Lee who also happens to co-program Wellington Water Week (and performed here last year with Mosaïque!).
This will be a sensational and FREE treat! So, if you are in PEC next Saturday afternoon – stop by the Drake Devonshire! The jam session starts at 4:00 pm. You might call this a bit of a teaser for what we have in store for Water Week 2019 in August!
