Prince Edward County is getting ready to roll out the red carpet — to welcome Royalty. Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, will visit The County on Friday June 30th. The royal couple will visit the Norman Hardie Winery, and will attend a community gathering at the Wellington Farmers’ Market on the eve of Canada Day.
The royal couple will start their 3-day visit in Iqaluit and then they’ll fly into CFB Trenton. From there they’ll visit The County before heading to Ottawa for the national birthday celebrations.

Traffic disruptions and partial road closures are required on June 30 to accommodate the Royal Tour. Wellington Main Street between Wharf Street and Maple Street will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning at 7 am, except for local traffic. Wharf Street will be restricted to one-way traffic in the northbound direction.
An overnight parking ban will be in effect starting June 29 on Wellington Main Street between Wharf Street and Maple Street. During the Royal Tour, visitors are strongly encouraged to park at the former arena (corner of Maple and Niles streets) or the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street). A free shuttle will pick people up at the Wellington and District Community Centre and drop them off at the corner of Wellington Main Street and Maple Street.
