St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Picton
Pictons Shout Sister! choir is making a joyful noise for Reaching for Rainbows. Georgette Fry directs as the choir continues Shout Sisters tradition of giving back to the community. We dedicate our annual fundraiser to helping our communities. We are also found throughout the year performing at other fundraisers and at seniors homes. Our performances are joyful occasions and our audiences respond with delight to our enthusiasm and energy.
There are 24 Chapters of Shout Sister! Choir in Ontario and we are constantly growing. Shout Sister! takes an unorthodox approach to choral singing. We do not audition and we sing a fun variety of music from pop and Motown, to folk, to a touch of country and blues. We learn from recorded tracks so we require no reading of music. Our method is fresh and fun and we are a warm and welcoming community.
Reaching for Rainbows
At Reaching for Rainbows, we are trying to shape a future where everyone in this County sits at the table. This is a tall order, but we are taking a chunk out of it by embracing six to nine year old girls, who have been identified as being vulnerable, into a four-year program in which they are mentored and empowered by a team of gifted and dedicated wonder workers. Our girls come to Rainbows four days a week, and there, in the most joyful and entertaining way, they practice the skills and pick up the tools that will empower them to become healthy adults. Our program is entirely funded by the generosity of this community.
This is an all-ages show. Bring the whole family!
