Award-winning Black Walnut Gardens is a remarkable organic oasis in Prince Edward County. With 28 gardens, many of them in raised beds; medicinal plants, exceptional herbs, exotic gardens, and heritage ones are featured on this 17 acre rural landscape. Extensive perennial beds of flowers, and intriguing vegetable gardens are a companion to a kitchen garden, market gardens, and a most extraordinary three-quarter acre Fragrant – Tactile Garden that is physically challenged accessible, with Braille signage, special seating, and a fountain feature.
Black Walnut Educational Gardens also acts as a facility where gardens are a backdrop for schools, informal workshop sessions, university/college mentoring, and occasional symposium.
This is a registered non-profit space, there are no fees, however donations are appreciated.
