SNOW BIRDS OF ONTARIO
County Outings leads small groups to see the beautiful birds that stay in the North Country during the winter. All trips originate in Prince Edward County but sometimes venture beyond the County line— east, north and westward—to find specific species of wildlife.
Our Amherst Island trips have been extremely popular as this is an irruption year for snowy owls. We tour the island, hike to a popular wooded area, stroll the icy shores and have lunch inside a family farmhouse.
The next all-day tour is February 9, 2019. $95 per person or $70 for early bird registrations. We are also planning a trip to Algonquin Park to see pine Martens and the grey jay. County Outings will continue to lead half-day tours to “Parts Unknown of Prince Edward County” with a mix of wild country exploring and meeting the authentic locals as well as some stops at the new wineries and craft breweries.
We are now leading tours in partnership with the Drake Devonshire in Wellington. If you’re staying at this popular inn, you can sign up at the front desk for a 3-hour customized tour of PEC.
