Kinsmen provides members with a better sense of fulfilment, by involving them in the life of their community. Kinsmen are provided with an opportunity to make lasting friendships and fellowships often lacking in the world of today. Fund raising events are the Home and Sports Show held on Mothers Day in May, T.V. Bingo aired on channel 3 every Thursday, and in conjunction with the Quinte Summer Music Festival they sponsor the Dream Auction held in September. All profits go into community projects such as Cystic Fibrosis, Kidney Foundation, Medical Equipment, Junior Sailing School.
Any male under 40 years young interested in joining the Kinsmen, are treated as guests until they decide whether or not to join. The Kinsmen hold two meetings, the second and last Wednesday of the month, except in July and August. The dinner meetings are held in the Yacht Club, Hill St., Picton at 6:30 p.m. with a cost of $9 for members.
